About DIET
DIET Ranipet was established in 1999-2000, during the third phase of its development. The institution comprises five departments:Department of Pre-service Teacher Education which assists In-service Programs,Department of Teacher Professional Development,Department of Education Technology and Material Development,Department of Assessment and Evaluation and Department of Field Interaction and Action Research.
DIET Ranipet serves as the District Academic Authority for Ranipet, Vellore, and Tiruppatur districts.
Objectives of DIET
- To implement Child Centric Curriculum and Syllabus for Standard I to XII.
- To sensitize concerned authorities in the district on the Rights of Children to Free and Compulsory Education.
- To function as District Resource Center, extended training centers and District unit of SCERT.
- To provide resource support to RMSA in designing training programme and providing training to District level trainers and Teacher Educators.
- To revise diploma in limited education source books.
- To assist academic performance in schools by providing on-site support and academic research.
- To facilitate School Heads to become Instructional Supervisors and ensure quality learning at all levels of schooling.
- To help schools guarantee Universalization of Elementary and Secondary Education to all students.
- To scout the outstanding class room processes and disseminate the best practices among all the teachers
- To assist teachers, through BRCs and CRCs in undertaking action researches and find innovative solutions to classroom issues.
